This website has been set up following the demise of the BDS affiliated club scheme to provide a free portal for carriage drivers and carriage driving clubs of all sorts in the UK. We will be listing carriage driving clubs. With contact details and website link where appropriate as well as a calendar of all sorts of carriage driving events across the UK. We also intend providing more general and fun information on carriage driving, whips and their horses.

The Society was formed in 1975 by a group of people who wanted to advance the interest of the Heavy Horse. Initially it was confined to the boundaries of Devon, Dorset and Somerset but our current membership of over 250 live in areas far beyond these counties. The Society is run by a Council of 12 members and events are always held in the South West.
